Here is my entry for the Jam Track Central Guitar Solo competition 2015! There's some stiff competition out there (this is an international competition), but I've always enjoyed creating/playing solos and so I've given it a crack.

I went for the category of rock and made sure to put on my best display of face.

We initially teamed up to perform each others solo material, but in a short space of time we discovered that we had a very natural songwriting ‘chemistry' with each.

In fact, if I don't break the rules at least 10 times in every song then I'm not doing my job properly.' - Jeff Beck. Whilst I can't claim to ‘break the rules' nearly as often as Jeff does, or even claim that I try to, I still enjoy.

Guitar Tuition and Masterclasses

I am a friendly, patient and enthusiastic tutor and have taught electric and acoustic guitar for over ten years. I currently have availability on both weekdays and weekends for private tuition; £30 per hour or £15 per half hour. All ages and abilities are welcome. These one-to-one lessons are delivered at my home studio in St Albans, Hertfordshire. Outreach tuition (eg. in schools and arts centres) is also available – please contact me to discuss details and rates.

I have taught groups and delivered on behalf of other organisations, including a song-writing workshop at The Old Town Hall, Hemel Hempstead , an electric guitar master-class at Sound It Out Studios, Walsall and a composition workshop at Frogmore Paper Mill.

My teaching approach is adaptable and I make sure that content is appropriate for each individual student. I teach a variety of styles; everything from jazz, classical, pop and country to blues, rock and heavy metal.
