About the Business
The Music School in Wanstead takes the headache out of finding a good music teacher for your child. How can you be sure of finding a good music teacher for your son or daughter? How will you know that they will do a great job and provide ongoing inspiration? It's not easy.
For us, the most important part of running the school is finding great staff. We have perfected our own methods of finding 'X factor' staff over the years, and our teaching staff continue to go from strength to strength. There's no great secret to our methods - it's mainly common sense and hard work - but we end up with teachers who are highly qualified i.e.

Lessons
Piano:
Our piano classes are mainly for children who wish to take exams (though it's not compulsory), and are taught in pairs for half an hour. Class sizes are kept very small for piano (and also violin), as children taking exams will obviously need more attention. There are only 2 children (maximum) in piano classes.
Violin:
As per our piano classes, violin classes are mainly designed for children who wish to take exams, and are taught in pairs for half an hour. All the above information regarding piano classes - except for the instrument, of course - is the same for violin.
Guitar:
Guitar classes are for electric, acoustic or classical guitar. It's optional, but our students can take ABRSM, Trinity or Rockschool guitar exams - all our teachers are experienced in all grades. Guitar classes are taught in pairs for half an hour.
Electronic Keyboard:
Our keyboard classes are designed to be a fun and informal way for children to learn how to play the keyboard/piano with no pressure (although students can take keyboard exams and play in concerts if they wish).
Classes are taught in groups of 5 or 6 for an hour for children age 7+, and in groups of 4 or 5 for half an hour for children age 5 or 6 (please note we do not teach children younger than 5).
Electronic keyboards are slightly easier to play than pianos (which have heavier, 'weighted' keys), and the fact they lots of different sounds and features helps keep children interested. Children can easily progress on to piano lessons later if they wish.
