About the Business
I began having lessons in Jamaica when I was very young. Moving to the UK interrupted my lessons for a while but I kept playing & taught myself to Grade 4 standard.
With the help of a patient teacher and other mentors I was able to complete the remaining grades & receive my DipLCM. I had many opportunities to perform i.e. during official school events, presentations & private concerts.
I was also able to accompany choirs in practice periods (in some cases providing recordings for them to practice with) & in competitions. I became self-employed as a pianist in January 2009. I offer private piano tuition in performance and music theory with exam entry to local boards (mainly ABRSM & LCM although others are available). Feel free to contact me with any quieries you may have.
I have a working Studio Operating Policy (SOP), have previously been CRB checked & will soon obtain a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check as DBS now replaces CRB in the United Kingdom.

Piano Lessons
Piano lessons are held at my home on a Kawai K30 upright piano in a room with direct outdoor access. Please note that I have no facility available for wheelchair access, nor am I equipped to teach those who require specific care.
During your lesson I focus on your topic of interest:
- Introduction to the piano.
- Pre-preparatory Levels.
- Grades 1 - 8.
- Grade 5 Music Theory.
- Repertoire.
Not all lessons have to be long term, but those that are will benefit from tailored, comprehensive instruction.
