About the Business
I have a passion for music. If I’m not teaching music, I’m either singing, playing the cello or listening to music. Maxwell Mini Music started in July 2014 and in that time has built a loyal following from local families, mainly in the Beckenham area. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the growth and development of many children who joined as new-born babes and are now confident walkers who enjoy their weekly music class with their friends.
In addition to fifteen years experience of teaching music and the whole curriculum in primary schools, in 2013 I started running a schools’ music festival for the Westerham area and this event has become popular and successful.
This experience together with my BA(Hons) and MA(Mus) have enabled me to become a Member of The Incorporated Society of Musicians (a professional body for UK musicians).
Business Services
Classes
Babies:
Fun, relaxed classes for babies from newborn until about 15 months. An opportunity for parents and carers to learn new songs for sharing with baby and enhance bonding. Songs range from soothing songs for sleep time to more active bouncing and peek-a-boo songs. Following on from the success of the introductory sessions in the summer 2014, regular classes started in September 2014. The Autumn Term sessions continue on 31st October 2016 and each session lasts about 40 minutes.
Bobblers:
This class is for new walkers whilst they’re gaining confidence and stability and is designed for children up to about 2 and a half years of age. Every child is an individual and these classes provide an opportunity for them to respond to music in their own way. Parents and carers are encouraged to participate as this will encourage the children to become more involved and engaged. The regular classes started in September 2014 and last about 40 minutes.
Pre-schoolers, Schools and After School Music Clubs :
Classes for 3.5+ are under development and the intention is to run these in the near future.
Bespoke sessions:
Sessions for parties and events (e.g. birthdays and weddings) are available.
