About the Business
I created Kids Into Music because I wanted to offer a quality music education class for primary school age children and, through my experience as a music practitioner, I was in the ideal position to develop a music programme through fun music activity. I studied at Aberdeen College of Education and graduated in 1981 with a Diploma of Teaching in Music Education (Secondary and Primary) and a Diploma of Teaching Pianoforte from the London Guildhall School of Music.
I have over thirty years’ teaching experience working with pre-school, primary school and high school children. I have also worked in schools and departments providing music for children with additional support needs. Currently, I work as a music specialist in a primary school and I also work part time for the Scottish Youth Music Initiative delivering a percussion project in primary schools across Fife. I have delivered in-service music training and workshops for teachers.
I develop music resources for class teachers which are used in schools throughout Scotland; have worked with extracurricular school groups in percussion, guitar, recorder, choir and ceilidh band; produced concerts and shows and presented school groups and an a capella church choir at the Fife Festival of Music.
