About the Business
I studied music and teacher training in Aberdeen, graduating with a B.Ed(Hons) Mus in 1993. My performance studies were in clarinet, voice and piano. I played saxophone in the college jazz band and samba band. The picture shows me playing Balinese Gamelan at Dartington International Summer Music School which I went to for two summers during university on an educational scholarship. My B.Ed(Hons) Mus degree gave me a grounding in the classical music tradition but we also studied a wide range of musical styles like: jazz; pop; blues; contemporary music and electronic music.
Today my work is all about teaching people play various instruments and coaching them on all aspects of musical learning. I have enhanced CRB disclosure from Reading Borough Council and currently work as an instrumental tutor in Blessed Hugh Faringdon Catholic High School in Reading teaching woodwind, singing and keyboard/piano to pupils throughout the school.
