This is where you will find out about the teaching activities of British guitarist and songwriter John Ellis. He has worked with major names in British music including Peter Gabriel, The Stranglers, Peter Hammill, The Vibrators, Judge Smith and many more. There is a resource page for John's students and all kinds of information if you are interested in learning to play guitar.
Gary's great guitars are difficult to get in the UK but if you would like to buy one, please contact us. You can buy gift vouchers for lessons, recordings by John Ellis and there will soon be a page where you can sell buy and sell second-hand guitars. Chanoyu Records also has a shop where you can buy recordings and download free MP3s of John's music.

Teaching
Private lessons:
John teaches privately from his home in East London. One-to-one teaching is the most effective way to learn, especially if you are prepared to put in the practice. John teaches all age groups starting from 8 years old. He is CRB checked.
Group lessons:
John teaches small groups in Central London locations. Group lessons are cost effective and a great way to spend an evening. Class mates support each others learning and many have become friends as a result of taking part in the sessions.

Skype lessons:
John can teach you wherever you are through the use of Skype or Facebook etc. Slightly cheaper than one-to-one tuition, many students still find them to be a very effective way to learn.
House Concerts:
John is available for ‘House Concerts’. Although these are primarily performance events, John is happy to add in a workshop or teaching element into the performance.
