Garden Music School is dedicated to your Drum, Guitar, Bass and Keyboard development. Constantly evolving and teaching from purpose built studios, we provide you with a state of the art, friendly and comfortable learning environment with top of the range instruments, so you can just turn up and play.
All the tutors are experienced full time professionals. Based in Shedfield, we are easy to reach from Fareham, Portsmouth and Southampton so whether you’re looking for Drum lessons, Guitar lessons, Bass lessons, Keyboard lessons or Music Theory lessons, we have lessons to suit you.
It’s all about you and where you want to go with your playing. We teach everyone from beginners to professional players of all ages. We can take a day one beginner to a professional level or you can just play for fun, de-stress and gain health benefits. If you want to take it more seriously, we will help you become the player you want to be. Our teaching covers all aspects of playing and is based upon real world playing skills, backed up by internationally recognised qualifications if you want them.

Lessons
Beginner:
The most important stage! The skills you learn at this stage set the foundation for your future progress.
At Garden Music School we have a specially designed Foundation Course that takes you from first day nerves to covering all the basics of your instrument. Whether you’re looking for guitar, bass, drum or keyboard lessons in Fareham, Southampton or Portsmouth, we have you covered.
Your first lesson is Free and the Foundation course material is also Free, comprising the first 10 weeks of lesson material. This will give you a solid understanding of technique and reading music notation allowing you to progress quickly avoiding all the ‘rookie’ pitfalls.
Intermediate:
This stage can be frustrating as you can play but are not necessarily improving or just playing the same old things over and over. In some cases your playing can actually be getting worse even though you practice regularly. You will not improve by ingraining bad technique.
We have been where you are and know how to get you moving forward. We will asses your playing and sometimes tell you the things you don’t want to hear but we will definitely move your playing forward. This will encompass reassessing your technique, improving your technique and then showing you how to apply this new technique back into your playing.
Exploring new concepts and material will help you become an individual proficient musician that is in command of their instrument. Intermediate players looking for drum, guitar, keyboard or bass lessons in Southampton, Fareham or Portsmouth will find us easily and will move forward in their playing.
Advanced:
You have been playing for years so you know what you are doing but could you be a better player? Would you like better technique, be able to play authentically in all styles, maybe turn Pro?
Why do the Pros always sound so good, simple we never stand still. We are always looking to improve and take on new ideas, concepts, techniques and push our boundaries. Pros know you never really stop learning, but as they say “you are on the journey”. With over 20 years of experience we will help you take your playing to that Pro level.
