About the Business
I'm Jane Coles, owner of Forte School of Music in Cardiff. The first UK school opened in June 2000 in Cardiff and since opening the demand for lessons has soared with hundreds of music-mad youngsters now regularly attending lessons. The Forte method puts the emphasis firmly on fun and is designed to build confidence at the same time as teaching music skills.
Learning music at Forte means you will be learning in a dynamic, nurturing, musical environment, filled with enthusiastic people who love music and sharing it with others. At Forte, you will learn how to understand the language of music.
Your musical senses: hearing (aural), feeling for beat & time (rhythm), music reading and writing (theory), will develop along with the knowledge of how all of these combine together to make music. Through your musical development at Forte, you will discover how to express your inner feelings and creativity through music and how to write your own compositions.

Lessons
Early Childhood Music:
Immersing babies and young children in a music rich environment of interactive musical activities has been proven to have a positive effect on the intellectual abilities of young children. Best of all it is loads of fun for parent and child alike!
Piano Courses:
We recommend a small group learning environment where children are immersed in a whole range of activities designed to develop a broader range of musical skills than would otherwise be offered in traditional private lessons. This broad base of sound musical skills are a great foundation to move on to any instrument in the future.
Private Lessons:
Solo lessons are 30 minute one on one lessons with a teacher, while Duet lessons have two students sharing their lesson. Lessons are for adults as well as children. Parents of children are welcome in the lesson.
