Becki Short is a 1940’s themed vintage singer. Her repertoire covers the 1930’s to the 1950’s, from likes of The Andrew Sisters, Vera Lynn, Frank Sinatra and Doris Day, to songs from musical theatre shows of the era and before, such as Oliver!, My Fair Lady and Me and My Girl.

Becki is available to sing for weddings, at care homes, marriage proposals, corporate events, private parties, funerals and gigs. She is a totally self contained act, having her own PA system and equipment.

Singing Lessons

Becki is a professional singer, and has been teaching vocals since 2010 to students of all ages and abilities. From total beginners to singers who regularly perform, Becki is proud to provide specially tailored singing lessons in Portsmouth for all ages.

Teaching Style:

Working with the Vocal Process technique, Becki specialises in teaching musical theatre, jazz and popular music, however as she teaches you how your voice works (and how to look after your voice when singing), is able to teach most styles, and has previously taught singers who perform genres such as rap and heavy metal.

Qualifications:

Becki has over 10 years of professional vocal training under her belt, and the following qualifications. The Vocal Process Singing Teachers Retreat, Grade 5 and 6 Singing in Trinity, Grade 5 Acting in Trinity, up to Grade 5 in Modern Jazz Dance and Tap Dance, and up to Grade 7 in Ballet. Becki has a fully enhanced DBS, public liability insurance and first aid certificate, all of which are available for you to see on request.

Becki is able to put you through exams (with the Trinity board), enter you in competitions, and provide performance opportunities.
